Build Mode allows you to create new pages and add new sections to your site without needing full access to the Designer. It gives you more flexibility than the Editor, but keeps the site's design system protected so nothing breaks.
What you can do in build mode
- Create new pages from approved templates
- Add additional sections to the bottom of a page
- Rearrange components
- Edit text, images, and links inside those components
- Use pre-built blocks designed specifically for your site
- Manage CMS items (like publications, team members, etc.)
What you cannot do in build mode
- Change the site’s layout or global design
- Edit classes, styles, or spacing
- Modify components at a structural level
- Add custom code
- Access Designer-only tools like Interactions, Style panel, or advanced layout settings
